Smolink (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an infrastructure architecture and licensed private investigation firm operating out of Redwater, Alberta, Canada. We engineer systems designed to protect sensitive operations, and we apply those same rigorous standards to how we handle your data.

  • Contact & Consultation Data: If you use our contact form, we collect your name, corporate affiliation, email address, phone number, and any explicit details regarding your project scope. This information is submitted locally to our servers and is never processed by third-party website builders.
  • Operational & Infrastructure Data: During engagements, we may ingest network schematics, routing configurations, hardware logs, or intelligence parameters required to complete an audit, deploy a server, or conduct a licensed investigation.
  • Technical Website Data: Our servers automatically log minimal connection data (e.g., standard Apache/Nginx server logs, IP address, and browser type) to detect anomalies, thwart attempted breaches, and ensure the stability of this domain. We do not use third-party analytics trackers (like Google Analytics or Matomo) to mass-harvest your browsing behavior.

2. Tactical Server Hosting (Zero-Knowledge Clause)

Smolink architects and deploys private situational awareness infrastructure, including ATAK/TAK server environments and secure communications relays. We employ a strict Zero-Knowledge and End-to-End Encryption architecture.

Unless explicitly contracted to act as operational administrators for your team, Smolink does not monitor, archive, decrypt, or intercept client communication traffic running across the tactical platforms we build. The infrastructure is yours—we build the bridge, but we do not look at what crosses it.

3. Intelligence & Private Investigation Services

As a licensed Private Investigation entity in Alberta, any Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), digital forensics, or investigative work is conducted pursuant to a lawful mandate. Any resulting personal data collected during an investigation is gathered lawfully, structured within a chain of custody, and immediately surrendered to the retaining client or deleted with forensic destruction protocols upon case closure.

4. Data Sovereignty & Third-Party Sharing

Our mandate is cloud-independent, self-hosted infrastructure. We do not offshore your data.

  • We strongly reject the practice of selling or renting client data to marketing firms.
  • We do not offload your consultation logs to unvetted third-party CRM systems.
  • We will only disclose data if presented with a lawful, binding judicial warrant from a recognized Canadian authority. We will utilize all legal avenues to challenge excessively broad demands.

5. Security & Encryption

Protecting data is our core business. Client files, configurations, and forensic images are handled exclusively on fully encrypted block devices. Network boundaries are rigidly segmented, and data at rest is secured via enterprise-grade encryption. However, please recognize that no digital transmission is impervious—if your inquiry involves highly sensitive operational data, please use our contact form generally, and we will establish a secure, verified channel for subsequent transmissions.

6. Your Access & Correction Rights

Under PIPA/PIPEDA, you retain the right to query what personal data we hold on you, challenge its accuracy, or request its deletion. Should an engagement end, you can explicitly request that all associated project files be scrubbed from our offline archives.
